Sun sets on ‘Moons’

'Milford' not coming back at ABC Family

“Three Moons Over Milford” has crashed and burned at ABC Family.

Cable network confirmed Thursday that the rookie drama will not be coming back for a second season.

“Three Moons” got off to a slow start last month, premiering to just 1.6 million viewers (0.3/1 in the net’s target 18-34 demo). Tally not only paled in comparison with that of ABC Family’s other summer launch, “Kyle XY,” which drew 2.6 million in June, but declined significantly in the following weeks.

Skein revolved around the quirky residents of a small town whose lives are forever threatened by a possible cosmic disaster. Holly Goldberg Sloan and Gary Rosen exec produced the show. Three Moons Prods. produced in association with Touchstone TV. Howard Chesley and Jon Boorstin wrote the pilot episode.
