Wolf, Maddox tapped for veep positions
Sony Pictures TV, which has greenlit two rookie firstrun syndicated series for the fall, has promoted Jeffrey Wolf and Steve Maddox to exec VP of syndication sales.
Racking up clearances for the two new skeins, “Judge Maria Lopez” and “Greg Behrendt,” at a brisk pace for 2006-07, Sony Pictures TV will be one of the most active major-studio divisions at the National Assn. of TV Program Executives convention in Las Vegas later this month.
In their new jobs, Wolf and Maddox will oversee all of these domestic sales and series launches, as well as deals for off-network shows and library product. Sony’s sales offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas will fall under their aegis.
John Weiser, president of distribution for SPT, engineered the promotions, and Wolf and Maddox will report to him.
Wolf most recently was senior VP of SPT’s Northern region, which encompasses New York and Chicago. Before joining SPT in 1993, he was an Eastern account exec for King World Prods.
Maddox was senior VP of syndicated sales for the Southeastern region, in charge of the Atlanta and Dallas divisions. His first job in the syndie biz before he went to work for Sony was as regional manager for the Southeast territories for Orion TV.
