Changes include Fukasawa heading marketing, Tsuri topping sales

TOKYO — Sony Pictures Entertainment (Japan) has reshuffled its film group, prior to releasing a beefed-up slate of 49 titles in 2006-07.

Megumi Fukasawa will head the marketing division, managing five departments — media, publicity, creative, promotion and print production — as well as a new producers team.

Jyoji Tsuri will top the sales division, which includes the theater marketing department and the reorganized programming and business departments.

Other exec appointments include Mieko Hirabashi, head of business affairs, who is in charge of international information gathering and foreign film festivals; Hiroki Imahori, head of sales strategy; and Hisato Furusawa, special adviser. Dick Sano will remain senior VP of film distribution.

Upcoming titles from parent company SPE include “The Producers,” “The Da Vinci Code” and “Open Season.”

SPEJ will also distribute Korean pickups “Springtime,” “Rikidozan,” “A Family,” “The Wig” and “My Wedding Campaign.”
