New scribe tribe for ‘Lost’

Duo pact for two-year deal with Touchstone

“Alias” scribes Monica Breen and Alison Schapker are signing up for a two-year mission at Touchstone Television.

Duo have inked a seven-figure overall deal with the studio that calls for them to join the writing staff of Touchstone-produced “Lost.” They’ll also develop, create and exec produce series programming for the studio.

“Lost” and “Alias” both come from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Prods.

Breen and Schapker have been on “Alias” for the past three seasons, most recently as supervising producers. They began their writing careers in 1998 on the Aaron Spelling-produced WB hour “Charmed,” where they worked for four seasons.

Duo had been on the academic track before they turned Hollywood. Both were just shy of earning their Ph.Ds. when they decided to write spec scripts of “Frasier” and “Dharma & Greg” and set up meetings with reps.
