LONDON — CBS topper Leslie Moonves will be the keynote speaker at the Royal Television Society’s London conference on Sept. 14.
At the confab, whose theme is “The TV Networks Strike Back,” webheads from both side of the Atlantic will discuss their digital strategies.
Other speakers include BBC director general Mark Thompson, BSkyB chief exec James Murdoch, ITV chief exec Charles Allen, Channel 4 CEO Andy Duncan and RTL Group CEO Gerhard Zeiler.
Blighty Media Minister Tessa Jowell will open the talking shop.
“Doomsday technologies, promiscuous consumers, disloyal advertisers … there’s a tendency for network television conferences to construct agendas calculated to make us all panic and head for the hills,” said U.K. Endemol chief Peter Bazalgette, chair of the conference planning committee. “But not this time. We’ll be looking at all the positive ways in which traditional television networks and platforms are now colonizing the digital space.”
