John C. McGinley

Dr. Perry Cox on 'Scrubs'

John C. McGinley

(Dr. Perry Cox)

What was your favorite episode of the show?

“The Brendan Fraser episode, when Brendan’s character passes. It’s got the ‘Sixth Sense’ kind of thing that Billy (Lawrence) wrote in there that is just fantastic. Upon a second viewing of it, it’s still seamless; you still can’t tell when Brendan’s gone and when he isn’t. It’s just a really well-executed 22 minutes of television.”

What has been the best off-camera moment?

“Arranging for a playdate (for son Max) with (guest star) Heather Locklear and her daughter. She was still married. It didn’t work out.”

How has the show changed your life?

“It’s enabled me to earn a living as an actor and stay in the same town as Max and not have to relocate, four months in Buenos Aires, four months in Durango.”
