Jackson to continue for 3 more seasons

“American Idol” judge Randy Jackson has extended his deal with the smash TV show, where he’ll remain for at least the next three seasons.

Multimillion-dollar pact means all three of the show’s judges (as well as host Ryan Seacrest) are locked up for several years to come. Paula Abdul inked a three-year deal in March, while Simon Cowell and Fox worked out a megapact in November that keeps him on the show for five seasons.

Jackson’s talents “as a musician, A&R executive and referee make him invaluable to the show,” said Fox Entertainment president Peter Liguori.

A producer, bassist and exec, Jackson has been with the show since its 2002 launch. He spent time in the rock group Journey and eight years as vice president of A&R at Columbia Records, as well as four years as senior VP of A&R at MCA Records.

Jackson has worked with artists such as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Elton John and Destiny’s Child.
