Exec joins Cruz in assuming leadership of news division

U.S. Spanish-lingo net Telemundo has upped Johanna Guerra as VP of network news.

She joins Guillermo Santa Cruz, currently VP, special projects news and sports, in assuming joint leadership for Telemundo’s network news division.

Both report to Jorge Hidalgo, senior executive VP, news and sports.

Guerra has been exec producer of news mag “Al rojo vivo con Maria Celeste.”

In her new post, she will oversee news programming, including “Vivo,” the weekday and weekend editions of “Noticiero Telemundo” and all news content for other network shows.

She will also be responsible for the news bureaus in Los Angeles, New York, DC, and Mexico City, and will manage talent development and communications.
