Director of marketing upped to VP position
Gotham indie distrib Emerging Pictures has upped Josh Green to veep of distribution.
Move comes after Emerging launched Rain U.S., a collaborative digital distribution and exhibition venture with Brazil’s Rain Network.
Green has served as Emerging’s director of marketing and business development since joining the company in 2002.
He will act as a sales agent and producer’s rep on Emerging’s slate, as well as manage distrib campaigns on pics for which Emerging is retained to roll out.
Green has worked on such Emerging projects as “Tony ‘n’ Tina’s Wedding” and Georgia Lee’s “Red Doors.”
The brand’s newly minted partnership with Rain will provide technology for Emerging’s planned expansion as a digital exhib of arthouse films into 400 theaters over the next three years.
First film distribbed under the new Rain banner will be “Marjoe,” the 1972 Oscar-winning docu by Howard Smith and Sarah Kernochan.
Emerging is headed by industry vets Barry Rebo, Giovanni Cozzi and Ira Deutchman.
