Gersh elevates agent duo

Butler, Greenstein make senior partner

The Gersh Agency has made senior partners of Bill Butler and Rick Greenstein.

Butler has been a partner and head of Gersh’s New York office, while Greenstein has been a partner, senior veep and head of the agency’s comedy division.

As senior partners, they will be more involved in setting the course for the agency, along with Bob and David Gersh and Leslie Siebert.

Butler joined Gersh in 1995 from William Morris and has overseen an expansion of Gotham headquarters, which bolstered its legit ranks with the acquisition of the Joyce Ketay Agency. Butler reps clients including Christopher Meloni, Victor Garber, Melina Kanakaredes, Jane Krakowski, Zoe Saldana, Kate Burton, Kathryn Erbe and Jake Weber.

Greenstein ran his own music agency and worked for APA and WMA before joining Gersh in 1995 to establish a comedy division. Overseeing a roster of more than 50 comedians, Greenstein books personal appearances for Jamie Foxx, Dave Chappelle, Chris Tucker, Drew Carey, Brian Regan and Kevin Nealon.

“Bill and Rich have been great assets to the firm,” Bob Gersh said. “Rick nurtured the comedy and personal appearance division into a powerhouse sector of our company’s business model, and Bill has effectively managed and operated our New York office, which is one of the leading agencies in Manhattan.”
