Fox Mexico chief Hernandez exits

Managing director departs after 4 years

Twentieth Century Fox’s managing director for Mexico, Jose Juan Hernandez, has ankled after four years of running Fox’s Mexico operations.

Hernandez has been out since last week, and the reasons for his departure are not entirely clear. He joined Fox as Mexico’s marketing director nine years ago.

Juan Carlos Lazo, Fox’s current marketing director for Mexico and the territory’s No. 2 exec, is in L.A. meeting with studio execs.

After receiving press inquiries, the company issued a statement from Eduardo Echeverria, Fox’s senior VP for Latin America, that said: “Hernandez left Fox to pursue new challenges and opportunities. All his colleagues at Fox wish him well and the best of luck.”

Echeverria said a replacement would be announced soon. Lazo is likely to succeed Hernandez.
