The Fox Networks Group has promoted Michael Lang to exec VP of business development and strategy.
Formerly senior VP of business development for Fox Broadcasting, Lang will be the point person for business with the Fox Network, Fox Sports and 28 different cable nets, ranging from FX and Speed to National Geographic Channel and Fox Reality. (Fox News Channel is not part of his portfolio.)
Lang was involved with News Corp.’s purchase of MySpace.com, and he’s worked with DirecTV on getting episodes of hit Fox series into a commercial-free video-on-demand/pay-per-view window. Fox also sells series episodes for viewing on video iPods for $1.99 apiece.
Lang, who’ll continue to report to Tony Vinciquerra, prexy-CEO of the Fox Network Group, joined Fox Broadcasting in 2004 after running his own consulting firm.
