Net taps publicist to head media relations

Fox has tapped Erica Keane to head media relations for the Fox Television Stations group, net’s exec VP Brian Lewis announced Tuesday.

Keane will oversee all PR functions for the 35 Fox owned-and-operated stations and will work with Twentieth Television’s communications veep Les Eisner on the launch of My Network TV this fall.

Both Keane and Eisner report to Lewis, who oversees communications for Fox News as well as the Fox stations and Twentieth Television. Keane will also work closely with Fox station’s CEO Jack Abernethy.

My Network TV will launch on 10 major Fox-owned stations, and so far has deals signed with 95 affiliates, including 18 Sinclair Broadcasting Group stations, giving it distribution in 65% of the country.

Keane joins Fox from praisery Hill & Knowlton, where she was a senior vice president. Previously, Keane was a PR manager for NBC’s “Today” and served as publicist for MSNBC and CNBC.
