Exec new veep of prod'n
Warner Horizon, the new Warner Bros. division for lower-budget scripted and reality series for cable and broadcast TV, has named Kevin Fortson senior VP of production.
The program lineup Fortson will inherit includes ABC’s primetime reality show “The Bachelor,” the forthcoming CW competition series “The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll,” and a show in development inspired by “Welcome to the Neighborhood,” the controversial reality series canceled by ABC before the premiere of the first episode.
Fortson, who reports to Peter Roth, president of Warner Bros. TV, will be responsible for physical production, including budgeting, scheduling and staffing.
For the last two years, Fortson was senior VP of operations/studio facilities for Warner Bros. Before that, he spent 11 years at Telepictures Prods., most recently as senior VP of production, working on series such as “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “Extra.”
