Eyeworks expands

Holland’s Eyeworks Group is continuing its global expansion by buying the New Zealand-based international production house Touchdown Television.

The 5-year-old Dutch production and distribution outfit adds offices in Los Angeles and London to its bases in Germany, Belgium and Sweden.

On April 1, Touchdown will become Eyeworks Touchdown. The acquisition gives Eyeworks a toehold in the English-speaking market.

Touchdown specializes in lifestyle, sports and factual series as well as reality gamers, with hits including “Miss Popularity” and “How Normal Are You?” Quizzer “The Chair” has been licensed to 25 territories, including the U.K. and the U.S.

Touchdown founder and topper Julie Christie will remain managing director and CEO.
