Comedy swap for Peacock

Radford replaces Girolamo

NBC and sibling NBC Universal Television Studio are engineering a comedy switcheroo.

Renate Radford has left the studio for a new gig as veepee of comedy development for the network. She replaces Gina Girolamo, who’s moved over to the studio side to serve as VP of comedy programming.

Radford had been director of comedy at the studio, Girolamo a veepee at the net; both had been in their jobs for roughly two years.

During her run at the network, Girolamo helped develop the Peacock success “My Name Is Earl” and the upcoming “Andy Barker, P.I.” New job reps a homecoming for the exec, who worked at the Peacock studio from 2001-04.

Girolamo — who had a hand in wooing helmer Richard Shepard to NBC (Daily Variety, June 19) — will report to the studio’s senior veep of comedy development, Shelley McCrory.

Radford, who reports to NBC senior veepee of comedy development Jeff Ingold, helped develop the NBC Universal TV Studio-produced laffers “30 Rock” and “Barker.” She joined the Peacock studio in 2003 as manager of comedy development and upped to director a year later.

Before joining the NBC exec ranks, Radford spent three years an assistant in the office of the NBC Entertainment prexy, working for Jeff Zucker.
