CBS taps Petty for new media

Exec new head of biz development

Guy Petty has been tapped VP business development for CBS Paramount Intl. Television and will report to unit prexy Armando Nunez.

Petty will be in charge of managing business development for the unit with an emphasis on emerging platforms. He will work with sales offices around the world to explore new media opportunities including pay per view, video on demand, subscription video on demand, Web and mobile.

The move is in keeping with similar hires at other Hollywood studios, which are designed to quicken the pace and extend the breadth of new media deals abroad for U.S. product.

Petty was managing principal of Fulcrum Media and a partner in Accord Media, companies he formed for consulting for media and communications companies in the new media arena.
