Soft roll out for broadband VOD service set for fall
LONDON — BT Vision, the soon-to-be-launched U.K. broadband video-on-demand service, has signed content deals with MTV, Paramount Comedy and Nickelodeon.
The arrangement means that auds will have on-demand access to titles including “Punk’d,” “Pimp My Ride” and “Dirty Sanchez” from MTV; “SpongeBob Squarepants,” “Rugrats” and “Drake and Josh” from Nickelodeon; and “South Park,” “Comedy Store,” “Jongleurs Unleashed” and “The World Stands Up from Paramount Comedy” from Paramount Comedy.
Michiel Bakker, exec VP-m.d., MTV Networks U.K. & Ireland said: “This deal with BT Vision further reinforces our commitment to be available however, whenever and through whatever medium our audience wants to connect with MTV, Paramount Comedy and Nickelodeon.”

The launch of BT Vision has been delayed but a soft roll out is reputedly being lined up for the fall, with a full-blown launch planned for the New Year.
