U.N. bridges cultures

B'way bash has international feel

Thesp-scribe Sarah Jones portrays a veritable United Nations of immigrant Americans in her Broadway solo show “Bridge & Tunnel.” So it’s only fitting that her opening night party on Thursday was thrown at the actual U.N.

In a diplomat dining room looking out over the East River, Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Tony Kushner, Jeffrey Wright and Bebe Neuwirth were among the stars who came out to fete Jones.

Streep served as co-host of the party and chief cheerleader. (A couple of years ago, she produced the show’s hit run Off Broadway.)

And you’d better appreciate “Bridge & Tunnel,” or else.

“He lives!” she declared the moment she heard that a prominent print critic loved the show. “He lives another day.”
