TV Guide set for o’seas sales

Agreement includes 'Ready, Set, Change,' 'TV Candy'

Making available its program lineup to the international marketplace for the first time, the TV Guide Channel has tapped indie distributor CableReady to handle worldwide sales for some 100 hours of programming.

Agreement includes several series already successful in the U.S. — the home makeover show “Ready, Set Change”; “Infanity,” an insider’s look at TV’s hottest stars; and “TV Candy,” a fashion makeover series hosted by Melissa Rivers.

In addition, Connecticut-based CableReady will handle foreign sales for the channel’s extensive 2006 Red Carpet specials, hosted by Joan and Melissa Rivers.

The TV Guide programming will be pitched by the distributor to overseas buyers at the upcoming NATPE confab in Las Vegas.

“TV Guide is iconic. These programs and specials cover what viewers love: movies, TV hits and the stars in them,” said CableReady prexy-CEO Gary Lico. He founded CableReady 13 years ago after stints in domestic syndication and station programming.

The TV Guide programming joins other programming that CableReady syndicates around the world, including Bravo’s “Inside the Actors Studio” and Court TV’s “Forensic Files” both placed in 100-plus territories abroad.
