Time for gig on ’24’

Hunt replaces Izzard in hit drama

David Hunt (“Everybody Loves Raymond”) is joining the cast of “24,” taking over a role originally intended for Eddie Izzard.

Blighty superstar Izzard quietly parted ways with “24” after a day of filming. He’s currently working on his upcoming FX skein “The Riches,” which was picked up to series last month.

Hunt — a Brit, like Izzard — will play a villainous accomplice named McCarthy. As usual, producers are keeping plot details under wraps.

In addition to a slew of roles in various U.K. skeins, Hunt has appeared on numerous U.S. series, including “Numbers,” “Monk” and “Falcon Crest.” Feature credits include “Eyes Wide Shut” and “Amazing Grace,” which he co-produced with wife Patricia Heaton.
