Veteran entertainment attorneys Gary Raskin, Arnold Peter, Barbara Rubin and Jody Simon are joining forces, launching a new law practice in Century City.

Raskin Peter Rubin & Simon will focus on entertainment law, working with production companies, financial entities, new-media firms, trade groups, talent and corporate sponsors.

The firm has already lined up Maverick Films, the National Assn. of TV Program Executives (NATPE), New Line TV, GRB Entertainment and BBC Worldwide Prods. as clients.

Other entertainment names repped by the new firm include Jeff Melvoin (“Alias,” “In Justice”), Bruce Zimmerman (“Desperate Housewives”), Windmill Entertainment (“Chasing Farrah”) and Bruce Toms (“Nanny 911”). Mercedes-Benz, USC and Pepperdine U. are also clients.

Beyond entertainment, the firm will tackle real estate, labor, employment and other fields as well.

Peter joins from international law firm Lord Bissell & Brook, where he was chair of the entertainment and media practice, while Rubin headed up business and legal affairs for A&E, Rysher Entertainment and Spelling TV. Raskin has handled entertainment litigation in federal and state courts; Simon also has showbiz-related experience.
