RDF into on-demand

World Brief

RDF Media, whose hits include “Wife Swap,” is mulling the launch of its own on-demand broadband service, giving auds the opportunity to buy its shows and those by other independents.

It would be the first U.K. indie to provide this service, which has profound implications for the way TV content is consumed in Blighty and elsewhere.

Service could bow by Christmas and may be available outside the U.K.

RDF, which has offices on both sides of the Atlantic, is looking at various models, including pay-per-view, pay-to-own and subscription.
