Peacock’s in ‘Business’ with scribes

Oakley, Weinstein add 'Class' to net

Scribes Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein (“The Simpsons”) are flying “Business Class” this development season, partnering with Doug Liman’s Dutch Oven Prods. for a single-camera laffer at NBC.

In addition, Oakley and Weinstein are redeveloping their CBS hour “22 Birthdays,” writing a new script for the project.

“Business Class” revolves around two national sales reps who embark on a nonstop business trip. “These two guys live in a world of airplanes, cookie-cutter chain hotels, Ambassador’s Clubs and expense-account restaurants and are always on the move to put out one fire or another,” Oakley said.

Oakley and Weinstein will write the half-hour, exec producing with Dutch Oven’s Liman and Dave Bartis. NBC U Television Studios, which has an overall deal with Dutch Oven, is producing.

Scribes first collaborated with Dutch Oven last year for “22 Birthdays.” Eye has agreed to redevelop that project, a soapy dramedy about the parents of the first-grade class at an exclusive private school.

Both projects were packaged by CAA.
