NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has inked a new deal with Jerry Springer.
Multiyear contract renews syndicated success “The Jerry Springer Show” in more than 85% of the country through the 2006-2007 TV season, according to NBC U prexy Barry Wallach.
Show has been renewed in 45 of the top 50 markets. Among those renewing are 16 Tribune stations and 27 Sinclair outlets, as well as others from Fox, Granite, Hearst-Argyle, Raycom, Emmis, LIN and Clear Channel.
Now in its 15th season, “Springer” continues to attract respectable auds, making particularly steady gains in key female demos 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.
Announcement silences rumors that Springer was intending to run for political office.
