Carol Burnett, Roseanne Barr, Jane Pauley and Betty White are among the 50 women selected by the Museum of Television & Radio as this year’s “She Made It: Women Creating Television and Radio” honorees.
MTR started the three-year initiative last year to celebrate the achievements of creatives and businesswomen in TV, radio and new media.
Dec. 5 event in Los Angeles will honor writers, directors, producers, journalists, sportscasters and execs by preserving the legacy of these women. At the end of the three-year project, more than 2,000 hours of programming compiled from MTR’s existing collection of more than 120,000 programs and from new acquisitions will be available at the MTR locations in New York and Los Angeles.
Honorees were chosen by MTR with a committee comprising women working in TV and radio as well as academics who study women in media.
