‘Money’ man emerging

Shatner to host Alphabet quizzer

“Boston Legal” star William Shatner is pulling double duty for ABC, signing on to host the net’s new quizzer “Show Me the Money.”

Meanwhile, another veteran TV type — Alan Thicke (“Growing Pains”) — has signed on to host the pilot for CBS’ new karaoke skein “Singing Office.”

Endemol USA, the company behind “Deal or No Deal,” is producing “Show Me,” which could debut as early as next month. “Show Me” has contestants playing for big bucks by answering trivia questions, with people close to them playing a role in determining just how much coin they ultimately walk away with.

“We were looking for a great showman,” said Endemol USA prexy David Goldberg. Shatner’s “an instantly recognizable entertainer” with a “naturally warm and witty presence.”

Shatner will tape “Show Me” while continuing his work on ABC’s “Boston Legal.” Thicke most recently hosted the NBC flop “Celebrity Cooking Showdown.”
