Mip, Milia see attendance rise

Attendance was up across the board at the Mip TV and Milia content mart in Cannes, held earlier this month, according to figures released Thursday.

Total attendance reached 12,249 participants, compared to 12,163 in 2005. Company participation rose to 4,201 from 4,138 last year, while the number of acquisition execs in Cannes was 3,565, up 5% from 3,393 in 2005.

The rise was partly due to the number of companies and executives coming from the digital sector, particularly IPTV, mobile and interactive television specialists, according to Paul Johnson, director of organizer Reed Midem’s TV division.
