Meril moves up at WB TV

Exec promoted to VP-general sales manager

Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution has upped Rick Meril to exec VP-general sales manager.

Meril, who joined the company in 1999, most recently served as senior VP.

He will oversee the distribution sales activities for the company’s first-run and off-network properties. Meril will also supervise day-to-day operations of the distrib unit’s administration, research, marketing, creative services, programming and new business development teams.

Prior to joining Warner Bros., Meril spent 16 years at Cox Broadcasting, most recently as exec VP-general sales manager of television syndication for Cox’s Rysher Television.
