Beeb anchor moves to Arab satcaster

LONDON — BBC news presenter Darren Jordon has defected to Al Jazeera Intl., the English-language channel from the Arab satcaster, which launches later this year.

Jordon joins David Frost, former BBC correspondent Rageh Omaar, former BBC and BSkyB reporter Mark Seddon and former ITV presenter Shiulie Ghosh at Al Jazeera.

He will present the evening news from web’s HQ in Doha, Qatar. The new service will also operate from London, Washington and Kuala Lumpur.

Before his media career, Jordon served in the Jamaican army for eight years, retiring as a captain in 1986.
