Contemporary Christian music's go-to guy

With a who’s-who client list including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay and others, John Huie has established himself as the CCM go-to guy. Already a veteran music agent, Huie moved to Nashville in 1992 to bow Creative Artists Agency’s then-only outpost (in time to take advantage of the coming country music boom) and has been shepherding CCM and country music tours grossing tens of millions of dollars ever since. A frequent concert industry award winner, Huie says his theory for longevity and success is simple: “I signed Amy Grant in 1984,” he says, referring the reigning top female artist in the genre. “And when you sign the No. 1 artist of any genre, it seems you’re going to get the attention of everyone else. Then you have to deliver.”
