James McAvoy (“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”) has joined the cast of Working Title’s “Atonement.” The Joe Wright-helmed pic starts shooting in May in the U.K.
McAvoy will play a Cambridge grad accused of raping a 16-year-old girl. Keira Knightley will play the girl’s older sister and McAvoy’s love interest.
McAvoy is lensing “Becoming Jane” opposite Anne Hathaway. He also has completed work on Kevin Macdonald’s “The Last King of Scotland” and Tom Vaughan’s “Starter for 10.”
