Im’s in Paradise for his 100th pic

Helmer feted at Pusan

A colorful outdoor ceremony was held at the Paradise Hotel on Saturday night in honor of “Across the Years,” the 100th film by veteran Korean director Im Kwon-taek (“Chunhyang”).

Attendees were treated to a performance by lead actress Oh Junghye of the traditional Korean vocal art of pansori — a musical form that features prominently in the film. Im, who is known for his cinematic portrayals of traditional Korean arts and culture, is expected to premiere the film next spring.
