‘House’ raises roof

Theps visit B'way 'Town'

It’s the circle of life: The day after one Richard Greenberg show closes — the smash-hit Julia Roberts starrer “Three Days of Rain,” which ended its limited Broadway run Sunday — another opens.

The latest was “The House in Town” at Lincoln Center Theater, a production that caps off a very busy season for the prolific Greenberg.

When the playwright was led into the opening-night soiree Monday at O’Neal’s by Patricia Clarkson, he got a big round of applause from the crowd that included thesp Brian F. O’Byrne and fellow scribe John Patrick Shanley.

Greenberg, naturally, hated every minute of the attention. Mouthing silently to the clapping crowd, he pleaded, “Stop this!”
