The Scleroderma Research Foundation’s motto is “We’re in business to go out of business.” In pursuit of that goal, org raised $675,000 toward discovering a cure for the life-threatening disease at Thursday’s BevWilshire Cool Comedy, Hot Cuisine fund-raiser.
The night emceed by Bob Saget offered a four-course, definitely-not-hotel-food meal from chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, followed by a perf from comic Jeff Ross, who drew a big laugh for his line about his cigar cutter being confiscated at the Newark airport: “What am I going to do, circumcise the pilot?”
Ross was followed by Ray Romano, whose routine on family life included the observation that after having twins, “You have sex every three months. Really. It’s like the next morning I pay my estimated taxes.”
