The red carpet was rolled out for Laurence Fishburne at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas as the thesp was feted Sunday with a Half-Life Award at the CineVegas Film Festival.
In attendance was Dennis Hopper, chairman of the fest’s creative advisory board, whose working relationship with Fishburne dates back to Francis Ford Coppola‘s “Apocalypse Now” and “Rumble Fish.” (Both are also longtime members of the Guggenheim Motorcycle Club.)
“I’ve known Lawrence since he was 15 years old,” Hopper said. “He’s a person of great integrity and a really serious actor, and I’m happy to give him this award.”
Conversation was followed by a screening of helmer Laurence Malkin‘s thriller “Five Fingers,” starring Fishburne and Ryan Phillippe.
