Cabler will air two-hour event over two weeks in April
Fox Reality is going “Double or Nothing” with LMNO Prods.
Cabler has greenlit production on a two-part special from LMNO in which one player sells everything he owns in order to risk his net worth on one spin of a Las Vegas roulette wheel.
Fox Reality will air the two-hour event over two weeks in April. Casting has just begun on the project, one of the first original productions greenlit by the fledgling News Corp.-owned cabler.
“Double or Nothing” will start by introducing viewers to the contestant and his or her friends and family. A psychologist will confirm the player isn’t clinically insane. Second part of the two-hour event will feature the contestant taking the big spin live from a Las Vegas casino.
LMNO’s Eric Schotz and Bill Paolantonio are exec producers of “Double or Nothing,” which is based on a Blighty format. Reality shingle has been developing the project for 18 months, originally setting it up at NBC (Daily Variety, July 7, 2004).
