'Lestat' takes bite of B'way
At the Broadway opening of “Lestat” Tuesday, big hair for men was all the rage.
Most of the actors —Drew Sarich, Jim Stanek, Roderick Hill and especially star Hugh Panaro — sport long, flowing tresses in the tuner adaptation of Anne Rice‘s Vampire Chronicles.
But dudes in the opening-night aud wouldn’t be outdone, particularly not the rock celebs — among them Jon Bon Jovi, Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz and Ashford & Simpson’s Nickolas Ashford — who turned out to fete Elton John and Bernie Taupin‘s latest tuner.
After the show, the undead and their fans made their way to the party at Time Warner Center, where they were surrounded by the Elton John memorabilia on display for an exhibit called “Elements of an Icon.” If you didn’t get a chance to hang out with Elton himself, you could at least chat with his wax likeness.
