Reality shop Stone & Co. has tapped former CBS and Discovery exec Joan Harrison as head of programming.
Moves comes as Stone & Co., headed by founder Scott Stone, ramps up production with series orders at Bravo, Travel Channel and Logo.
As senior VP, Harrison will oversee all development for the company. Move reunites Harrison with Stone, for whom she worked while they were both at Telepictures. She was previously VP at TLC and Travel Channel and before that served as a television agent at BWCS and head of miniseries at CBS.
Development veep Michael Frederick and director Rene Brar will report to Harrison.
Stone & Co. has landed series greenlights for Bravo’s interior decorator competish “Top Design”; Travel’s 13-part series “1,000 Places to See Before You Die”; Logo’s “Curl Girls,” a docudrama about six lesbians with a passion for surfing; and 13-episode Travel Channel show “The Kids Are in Charge,” in which parents turn over planning the family vacation to their kids.
Stone split with former producing partner David Stanley two years ago. Duo had been behind such skeins as “The Mole,” “The Man Show” and “Loveline.”
Stone said his shingle’sthe upcoming production slate is made up of programming “with strong characters and multiplatform applications.”
Company also produces Nick at Nite’s “Hi-Jinks.”
