Endemol founder in joint venture

Endemol founder Joop van den Ende and his former colleague at the reality show giant, Hubert Deitmers, have set up venture capital firm Van den Ende & Deitmers with €150 million ($181.43 million) to invest in unlisted European media companies.

The 50/50 joint venture will also back established companies outside the media biz that have international expansion potential.

Investments in 20 to 25 firms will be made via the Crossmedia Fund and the Crossborder Fund over the next five years.

Van den Ende and co-founder John de Mol sold Endemol in 2000 for $5.9 billion. Van den Ende set up legit biz Stage Entertainment.
