Jenna Elfman’s taking a second chance on CBS.
The thesp’s midseason Eye laffer “Courting Alex” didn’t make it onto the fall sked, but she’s opted to give it another try, signing a new development deal at the net.
Under the fresh pact, CBS will develop a half-hour laffer with Elfman specifically in mind.
“Jenna’s a unique talent — her comedic timing is impeccable,” said CBS Entertainment prexy Nina Tassler. “She has made a huge commitment to the process.”
Tassler said Elfman’s decision to take another shot at starring in a sitcom at CBS “reflected the quality of our partnership.”
“We support her, she supports us,” Tassler said. “There has been a great dialogue all along.”
Elfman is best known for her starring role in the ABC laffer “Dharma & Greg,” which earned her a Golden Globe award and three Emmy noms. At CBS, she recurred in the net’s hit laffer “Two and a Half Men.”
