David E. Peckinpah

Writer/producer/director David E. Peckinpah died in Vancouver B.C. on April 23 of cardiac arrest. He was 54.

Born in Fresno, Peckinpah was the nephew of director Sam Peckinpah.

He wrote for TV shows including “Beauty & the Beast,” Wolf,” and “Farscape” and wrote several TV movies. He served as producer and writer for “Silk Stalkings” “Sliders” and “Turks,” and directed the feature “When Danger Follows You Home.”

He also wrote the screenplays for features “The Paperboy” and “Man of the House.” At the time of his death, he was preparing to direct a feature in New Mexico which he had adapted from the Max Evans’ novel “My Pardner.”

He is survived by his wife Lori, two sons; a daughter and two sisters.
