Crime pays on channel

A&E is to launch a third channel in the U.K. Its Crime & Investigation offering will bow on paybox BSkyB’s this year.

Moves comes more than a decade after launch of the History Channel in Blighty in 1995, followed by the Biography Channel.

C&I bowed in Oz in January last year. The weblet features investigative skeins, documentaries and specials from AETN, plus locally acquired and produced programming.

Channel will be operated in the U.K. as part of AETN Intl.’s joint venture with BSkyB.
