TORONTO — The Banff World TV Festival has tapped CBS as the recipient of this year’s outstanding achievement award.
“Banff is very pleased to recognize CBS as an industry icon,” said Jennifer Harkness, the fest’s director of content. “This network continues to produce outstanding television programming globally and deserves to be honored for this achievement.”
The Eye web was selected by the festival’s board of directors in recognition of its “groundbreaking programming, consistently solid ratings and overall contribution to the television industry,” said festival organizers.
Armando Nunez Jr., prexy of CBS Paramount Intl. Television, will attend the festival, June 11-14, to pick up the hardware. “This honor reinforces the high regard to which the international community holds for CBS’ legacy of high quality and successful programming,” he said.
