In a festive end to the opening night of the Pusan Intl. Film Festival, celebrities, industry power brokers and fest officials gathered for an intimate evening of mingling at the Paradise Hotel.
Stars came and went, but festival director Kim Dong-ho and other key players provided the crowd with an evening of schmoozing and boozing. Yoo Ji-tae and Kim Jisoo (stars of the festival’s opening film “Traces of Love”) and a few others made brief appearances. However, Andy Lau was undoubtedly the man of the evening as Asia’s Filmmaker of the Year award-winner stole the limelight. The crowd edged its way toward the superstar hoping for some face time.
Lau’s every move was recorded by a hoard of photographers. And his new best friends included the opening ceremony’s host Ahn Sung-kee and celebrity designer Andre Kim.
One who managed to retain a degree of independence was Japanese star Kaori Momoi (“Memoirs of a Geisha”.)
