ABC says it’ll air at least five original reality shows this fall — but it’s still not saying when most of them will roll out.
While CBS, Fox and NBC have been hyping their summer wares for weeks, an Alphabet announcement Monday regarding the net’s summer shows confirmed a timeslot for just one program. That series, the previously announced dating show “How to Get the Guy,” will air Mondays at 10 p.m. starting June 12.
ABC’s summer release also included one new project: bizarro talent competish “Master of Champions.” Each weekly seg will feature folks with such unique talents as drift driving and pizza tossing as they square off against one another in front of judges and a studio audience.
Jonas Larsen and Anthony Ross are exec producing for Y27 Entertainment. NBC is planning its own talent/variety show, “America’s Got Talent,” to be exec produced by Simon Cowell.
ABC’s summer sked announcement also revealed new names for several skeins.
The music competish formerly known as “Operacion Triunfo” (Daily Variety, Feb. 7) is now called “The One: Making a Music Star.” It seems likely to air in late July or August.
Docusoap “Summer Share” (Daily Variety, May 3) has been dubbed “One Ocean View.” And eBay-themed wish-fulfillment hour “Make It Happen” (Daily Variety, April 21) has been dubbed “Buy It Now.”
