O'Mara survives 'Justice'

“In Justice” was cancelled — but that’s not stopping ABC and Touchstone from placing another bet on series star Jason O’Mara.

Alphabet and its sibling studio have inked a talent holding deal with O’Mara that calls for the actor to star in a 2006-07 project for the Disney-owned companies. It’s the second such deal O’Mara has signed with ABC since 2004.

In addition to “In Justice,” O’Mara appeared in this spring’s no-go drama pilot “Drift.” A year earlier, he was in the unsold ABC/Touchstone pilot “Countdown,” and in 2002, he landed a gig in Fox’s aborted attempt at a series based on “The Witches of Eastwick.”

It’s not unusual for TV thesps to take several stabs at pilots and series before breaking through.

Other credits for O’Mara include the CBS skein “The Agency” and HBO’s Emmy titan “Band of Brothers.”
