Pair blaze WGA Awards trail

Guild taps MacAnally, Peters to exec produce kudofest

The Writers Guild of America West has tapped Blaze Television’s Conor MacAnally and Bart Peters to exec produce the 2007 Writers Guild Awards.

Kudofest will take place Feb. 11 at the Century Plaza Hotel in conjunction with WGA East ceremonies at Gotham’s Hudson Theater.

“Our aim is to take the show in a more writer-centric direction to honor not only this year’s nominees, but all the guilds’ members,” MacAnally and Peters said.

Blaze TV, founded in 1999 in the U.K., scored its first success with hourlong popular-music show “CD UK,”. In 2005, Blaze opened a U.S. office in Los Angeles and began to produce “CD USA” for DirecTV.

Peters’ other credits include the 2005 Writers Guild Awards, the Grammys, the World Music Awards, the Latin Grammys and “So You Think You Can Dance?”
