Epic A&R exec Ben Goldman has moved down the hall within Sony Music, becoming senior veep, A&R, at Columbia Records.
He will sign and develop new artists while overseeing artist development and key aspects of the recording process.
Goldman was the A&R exec who signed Ben Folds Five, Fuel and Matisyahu. He worked at Epic for Columbia chairman Steve Barnett, who becomes his boss again.
Starting in 1990 as an intern in the Epic Records A&R department, he worked his way through the ranks until he was named senior veep of A&R at Epic Records in 2001.
