Foxtel gets groove on with ‘CD Live’

Music skein to feature live acts, interviews, chart info

Paybox Foxtel on Monday announced a weekly music chart show called “CD Live,” which will offer up to seven acts a week performing live.

Skein will be hosted by deejay Craig Lowe. It also will feature Ian “Molly” Meldrum, who hosted the grandfather of Aussie music shows, “Countdown,” from 1975-86.

Meldrum, still a regular commentator on the music industry, will provide a gossip and interview component to the skein.

“CD Live” is based on the “CD:UK” skein in Blighty (and its Stateside equivalent, “CD:USA”) and will feature clips and interviews from the international editions.

“CD LIVE” will be produced by Peter Rix Management. Foxtel’s entertainment topper Graham Burrells will act as co-exec producer.
